Whether or not he was is actually beside the point. The fact of the matter is that he proclaimed himself to be. Either he really was, which makes their current understanding wrong, or he was proclaiming it falsely, which begs the question- why would Jesus have approved them in 1919, after they had shown themselves to be false prophets? This is a conundrum they have never been able to solve, no matter how much 'new light' they come up with.

the reason russell was originally considered the fds was that he taught 1874 as being the start of the parousia, with 1878 as the time that jesus began to reign proper.

Thinking of becoming a JW.

i am new to here so please be bear with me.. i have always believed in god, but was never baptised, my parents wanted me to make up my own mind religon wise.. i am thinking of becoming a jw and am just needing some advice on how to do this, bible study and jw beliefs.
also do jw say grace and how.. i am greatful of any help.. thanks.

My advice, as with any other religious group, would be to research them thoroughly, using sources outside their publications. This is especially prudent with JWs. They aren't a religion you can commit partially to. If you are going to make the level of commitment that JWs demand of its members it would serve you to learn as much you can about them. You won't get the full picture from simply studying with them, and attending a few meetings.

Are they really gonna bring out another Deadwood? I was under the impression it had been canned.
Oh how I wish they would bring it back...but no. There had been talks, when it was initially cancelled, of making a couple of two-hour specials, instead of a fourth season, but it never materialized.

All of the above. I recorded the season premiere of Its Always Sunny in Philadelphia last night. Havent had a chance to watch yet. Its the funniest comedy on television, IMO.
I've been waiting eagerly for AHS and Walking Dead to start.

This latest 'new light' will make about as big of a dent as the generation change in the mid-90's. The majority will probably not even realize there was a change. And after a certain amount of time, the old FDS teaching will never have existed at all.

how over time, not on the spot, but slowly changes were implemented, it started with forbidding anybody to read or hold the bible, and only the leader/pope etc could teach, once there was full absolute power, then satan was able to put in anything he wanted to corrupt it all.
i am not going to list the articles and scriptures, everybody can find those, i'm just going to quickly show from the history to now how it's happened and the proof and what is happening now.

7. Women don't like time wasters. If your evening results in carnal coupling, finish up as fast as you can, and then leave immediately afterward. This shows that you resepect her time and her privacy.
Good one. But I would add, that you should let her know, that under no circumstances will you be calling her again. You don't want to come across as a stalker.
